The Chicago Bears are coming off their best season in years, winning the NFC North. They aren't getting complacent, however, as they've once again been aggressive in adding to the team. The Bears signed receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, a true weapon, and running back Mike Davis in free agency, and they drafted running back David Montgomery and receiver Ryan Ridley in last month's draft.

Mitchell Trubisky is heading into a pivotal third season, and he sounds very happy with the skill position group he has around him.

“We've got a ton of weapons on offense,” Trubisky said after Wednesday's OTA practice, per Matt Eurich of 247Sports. “It's a lot of fun for a quarterback. We've got a lot of talent around me with the free agents we signed here picking up the offense really quickly. Same with the rookies. Just continue to add great guys who have a lot of talent, contribute to our positive culture. They want to come here, they want to contribute, they want to win and they know how to work. The guys coming here are doing a great job and picking it up quick.”

After the Bears traded away Jordan Howard this offseason, Montgomery could be in line to start as a rookie. The Bears' running game was inconsistent last season, and Montgomery could help jumpstart it. Trubisky had an awful supporting cast as a rookie, and Chicago has made upgrading it a priority.

They went out and signed Allen Robinson to a big contract last offseason to get Trubisky a true number one receiver. General manager Ryan Pace has done a good job building the roster, and clearly Trubisky is pleased.
