The Chicago Bears came up short against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card round. It appears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is still taking the loss pretty rough.

The Bears were one of the hottest teams in the league going into the playoffs. According to Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times, Trubisky admits it was touch to get bounced out so early.

“It’s so tough. It’s so tough. You never want to see it come to end, and then for it to end in such a dramatic way, it’s kind of heartbreaking. There is a lot that goes into this as far as how hard we work, how much we love this game and our teammates and how we just aspired to get all the way to the Super Bowl. So for it to come to an end, it’s really tough, especially in a dramatic fashion. Sometimes you feel like it’s out of your control with the calls, with the plays that go on. You just got to stay positive, move forward, take it for what it is and keep getting better.”

Trubisky's comments are certainly understandable. The Bears had plenty of momentum going into the playoffs thanks to his elevated play and their formidable defense. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it past the defending Super Bowl champs.

Although the season may have ended sooner than he wanted, there is a lot for Trubisky to be excited about. There is no question that Chicago surpassed expectations this year by going 12-4 and winning the NFC North in dominant fashion. More importantly, his emergence this season has now raised the team's expectations moving forward.
