Heading into Week 13 action against the New York Giants, there have many questions surrounding the availability of second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who is dealing with a nagging shoulder injury.
Trubisky has been able to practice this week, but there has been a cloud of uncertainty around whether he will be able to take the field. Despite that, the Trubisky injury designation still doubtful for the contest that leaves the door open for him to potentially take the field, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

The Bears downgraded two of their three doubtful players to out on Saturday, explaining that the players won’t be traveling to New York. Of the three, Trubisky was the only one who wasn’t listed.
Trubisky has been in practice but hasn't made any sizeable progress in his recovery from his shoulder injury that would strongly suggest that he will be back on the field. However, head coach Matt Nagy has continued to leave the door open on the possibility as he hasn't fully ruled him out. This has left the door ajar for him to possibly show that he's healed enough to be able to play in Sunday's game against the Giants.
There isn't any rush for the team to get him back under center if he's unable to do so physically. The Bears are more than comfortable to roll with backup Chase Daniels once again as the starter. Daniels performed well enough with his arm by completing 27-of-37 passes for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns while avoiding committing any turnovers against the Lions.
Ultimately, Chicago will see how Trubisky responds on Sunday morning to get a better determination for how he's feeling physically. If not, Daniels will have another spot start in front of him for at least one game.
