The Chicago Bears indicated the shoulder injury suffered by quarterback Mitchell Trubisky could result in missed time. They have seemingly solidified that notion with the promotion of quarterback Tyler Bray.

Trubisky has been listed as questionable all week. As a result, Bray will likely serve as the backup to quarterback Chase Daniel after being called up to the active roster, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

With Mitchell Trubisky doubtful to play, the Bears have promoted Tyler Bray from their practice squad.

The move to promote Bray essentially guarantees that Trubisky will not be available for Chicago. He was able to finish in the team's crucial 25-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, the short week will not give him much time to heal. The Bears have already seemingly put their contingency plan into play with Daniel stepping in to make the start.

The update certainly deals a blow to the Bears' offense. Head coach Matt Nagy was finally starting to get some flashes of promise out of Trubisky this season. This has helped them pull off some impressive wins over the last several weeks. However, the shoulder injury may be yet another setback they must navigate through.

Fortunately, Chicago has built up a comfortable lead in the NFC North with their win over the Vikings. There is a very good chance that they can maintain it with favorable matchups against their next two opponents. If the Bears have any hope of competing in the playoffs, they need Trubisky to return as quickly and as healthy as possible.
