Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has not played all season long with an ankle injury. He will not return in Week 15 either. With two weeks left in the season and the Bengals playing for draft positioning, the general belief is that Green will not return for the rest of 2019.
However, there is a chance the 31-year-old does just that. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Bengals haven't ruled out Green playing in the last two weeks of the season. He has reportedly looked good in practice and wants to play.
One issue to consider with the #Bengals: WR AJ Green, who hasn’t played this year because of an ankle injury, has looked good in practice. Despite the record & time of year, the team hasn’t ruled out playing Green in Week 16 or 17. And sounds like he wants to play, as well.

Green, a seven-time Pro-Bowler, will be a free agent at the conclusion of the 2019 season. He suffered the ankle injury in training camp, underwent surgery and has not played since.
Article Continues BelowOn Thursday, Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Green wants to play in 2019. The team will give him that opportunity if he so chooses to lace them up.
“It’s hard for me to say,” said Taylor, via Clint Roling of The Bengals Wire. “We continue to have daily conversations about it, and he’s not ready to practice today. He wants to play this year, so we want to continue to give him that opportunity and leave that open.”
It is unknown if Green would like to return to the Bengals—the team who drafted him—in 2020 and beyond. He was a hot name during the trade deadline but was never moved. If he does not play in 2019, his last snaps would the Bengals could have occurred in 2018.
