Friday night was a bit of a homecoming for Dallas Mavericks center DeAndre Jordan. He spared no chance to have some fun with Los Angeles Clippers power forward Montrezl Harrell.

It is clear that Jordan felt right at home in Los Angeles. He registered 11 points on an efficient 4-of-6 from the field. He was also a monster on the boards with 22 rebounds to go with four assists and a steal. Unfortunately, it would not be enough for him to help the Mavericks to victory as they fell short in a narrow 125-121 loss.

While he may be in a different uniform, the love for Jordan in Los Angeles is still alive and well. He received nothing but praise from his former team. Head coach Doc Rivers even implied that he should be the first player in franchise history to have his number retired. Despite not winning a championship, he still enjoyed plenty of success as a former three-time All-NBA honoree and two-time member of the NBA All-Defensive first team.

Jordan's presence is certainly missed by the Clippers. They are no longer as formidable in the paint as they were during his time in Los Angeles. Although they are enjoying breakthrough seasons from Harrell and center Boban Marjanovic, they do not provide the same stability on the interior as DeAndre Jordan once did. Regardless, it is apparent that both franchises have started to lay the groundwork for a potential resurgence in the near future.
