The Denver Broncos have an interesting offseason after missing yet another trip to the NFL playoffs. They have already made at least one head-turning move when they hired Nathaniel Hackett as the franchise's newest head coach and the successor of Vic Fangio. Hackett, formerly the offensive coordinator of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, is also about to be joined on the Broncos' coaching staff by someone that he is very familiar with, according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.
The Broncos are expected to hire ex-Michigan and NFL running back Tyrone Wheatley as running backs coach, sources tell @on3sports.

Modkins has left Denver for the Minnesota Vikings where he'll be serving in the same capacity. Tyrone Wheatley will inherit a running back group that features the up-and-coming Javonte Williams. Running back Melvin Gordon is set to become a free agent, but whether he returns to Denver or leaves Mile High City, Wheatley will have at least one promising stud to work with. Last season, Williams led the Broncos with 903 rushing yards to go with four touchdowns, and his production should only go up if Gordon leaves and Wheatley lives up to his own promise.
Of course, there remains the question under center for the Broncos, as they continue to get linked to Aaron Rodgers. In any case, it appears that Denver is slowly but surely rebuilding its think tank, led by Hackett.
