Denver Broncos fans were rightfully overjoyed when the team sealed the deal to acquire Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. No matter how excited the fanbase was, however, it pales in comparison to what was going through Nathaniel Hackett's mind after the deal went through. In an interview with NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Hackett revealed he couldn't hold back a high-pitched scream after completing the deal to trade for Wilson.
“[It was a] little scream. It was one of those somewhat high-pitched, but still wanted to be kinda manly screams.” @Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett on his reaction when he signed Russell Wilson 😂@DangeRussWilson | @TomPelissero pic.twitter.com/HpJ0bQnrt7

“[It was a] little scream, I think. It was one of those somewhat high-pitched, but still wanted to be kinda manly screams,” Hackett said of his reaction. “When you get a great player like that, to be able to be around him, and to get to know him as I have now, it's exciting.”
Hackett didn't even try to hide that he was like a little kid on Christmas after the Wilson trade was finalized, and he's clearly fired up to be working alongside the Super Bowl champion in his first year in Denver.
The Broncos head coach also revealed he and Russ have been in constant communication since the deal went through, suggesting they text at all hours of the day and are equally fired up ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
The Broncos acquired Wilson from the Seahawks in a blockbuster trade that saw Drew Lock, Noah Fant, Shelby Harris, and multiple NFL draft picks head the other way to Seattle.
Hackett has high expectations entering his debut season as the Broncos' head coach, but he clearly feels that both he and Russ are up for the challenge.
