Football is back, and Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio is too. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the coach spent the day in a Cleveland hospital with a kidney stone. However, Schefter notes that while it has not yet passed, he feels better and will try to coach in tonight's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons in the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton

Though it's a preseason bout, it's the first football to be played since the Alliance of American Football league shut down. And there will be keys to watch, including Fangio's coaching.

Previously with the Chicago Bears, Fangio coached up the NFC North squad to be a dominant unit, something he's done throughout his career. He's an old-school type head coach that cuts out the fat on teams and schemes. For instance, in practice, the Broncos are wearing their tighter game jerseys to simulate Sunday tackling better. He's also cut out music during drills. Attempting to coach amid a kidney stone is a reaffirmation of his dedication to hard work and no-nonsense football.

In terms of personnel to watch for the Broncos, there is a litany of intriguing fresh faces to be exciting about. Rookies Noah Fant, Drew Lock, and Dalton Risner should get playing time. It will also be the first time we see Joe Flacco, Kareem Jackson, Ja'Waun James, and Bryce Callahan don the Denver blue and orange as well. Tracking Courtland Sutton's progression can be added to the intrigue of the game, depending on how many snaps he gets.
