Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift popped up on the injury report yesterday after missing practice with a concussion.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the concussion will keep Swift out of the lineup for this weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers.

This is a tough setback for the rookie running back, who had his best game of the year in his first career start last weekend.
Swift racked up a season-high 149 total yards, rushing for 81 yards on over five yards per carry and also hauling in five receptions for 68 yards and a score.
The former Georgia product over 600 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns on the season. Swift has been a capable playmaker in the running game and as a receiver out of the backfield, and certainly appears to be Detroit's running back of the future.
Article Continues BelowHowever, Swift will not be able to go on Sunday, opening the door for veteran Adrian Peterson to get the bulk of the touches this weekend.
The Lions ended their two-game losing skid with a victory over the Washington Football Team last weekend. Detroit's offense racked up close to 400 yards of total offense, and Matt Prater nailed a 59-yard field goal as time expired.
Although the NFC North is something of a mess aside from the Green Bay Packers, the Lions and Minnesota Vikings have the chance to build momentum. The Chicago Bears have lost four straight and, with the expanded playoffs, it is possible Detroit could fight its way to a Wild Card berth.
Detroit will keep Swift out against a banged-up Panthers squad, but will hope he can be every bit as impressive as he was during his first start as the season progresses.
