Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay may be looking for a new contract, but that doesn't mean he will be holding out.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Slay will be reporting to training camp on time. This comes after Slay skipped the Lions' mandatory minicamp earlier this offseason.

Defensive lineman Damon Harrison, who is also seeking a new deal, said on Monday that he, too, would be showing up to training camp on time, so Detroit is getting a whole lot of good news here.

Slay is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played 15 games and registered 43 tackles, three interceptions, 17 passes defended and a defensive touchdown en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was originally selected by the Lions in the second round (36th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Slay went on to appear in 13 contests in a backup role during his rookie year, finishing with 34 tackles and five passes defended. Then, the following season, he became a full-time starter for Detroit, participating in all 16 games and registering 62 tackles, a couple of picks and 17 passes defended.

Since then, Slay has been a fixture in the Lions' secondary, with his best season coming in 2017 when he led the league in both interceptions (eight) and passes defended (26) in addition to recording 60 tackles and a fumble recovery. He would end up making the Pro Bowl and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection as a result.

The Lions won just six games this past year.
