There is a boon for cornerbacks heading into the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The market could be getting greater, as according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Detroit Lions have gotten calls about Pro Bowler Darius Slay.

Schefter notes that it will take a lot to get Slay out of Detroit. However, if there is a team out there needing a cornerback, he should draw interest. Nonetheless, Schefter has the Lions standout corner as a name to watch before the deadline.

Slay and the Lions aren't on the best of terms. He previously held out of training camp for a new contract but didn't get it. Earlier in the week, Detroit traded safety Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks for a fifth-round selection, to which Slay responded with “WTF” and a facepalm emoji.

It basically say it don’t matter who you is,” Slay said on the matter on Thursday, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “No matter how much you put in, at the end of the day it’s a business so that’s how I just look at it. Nobody’s safe, in my opinion.”

Slay is on contract through the 2020 season. When asked on his situation heading into the trade deadline, he said:

“Anybody can get traded but I personally wouldn’t care, my personal feeling. Like I said, it’s a business. I wouldn’t care. It is what it is, go on about the next day.”

Slay is inactive for Week 8 with a hamstring injury. He has played five games on the year, allowing a 74.5 passer rating in coverage.

A two-time Pro Bowler and 2017 first-team All-Pro, the 28-year-old should warrant a fair amount of interest on the trade market.
