The Detroit Lions have been one of the worst teams in the NFL so far, currently cellar-dwelling in the NFC North with a record of 1-10-1. There has however, been a bright spot for the Lions, as they most recently beat the Minnesota Vikings, 29-27 in Week 13. Among the brightest spots for the Lions was quarterback Jared Goff, who had a stellar game, finishing with 25/41 passes for 296 yards, and a stunning three touchdowns. Goff went on to win NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Vikings. In fact, Dan Campbell had a lot to say following Goff's breakout game this season.

Via Tim Twentyman of detroitlions.com:

“I think it can do a lot, I echo the fact that—man, he had some outstanding throws in that game. I mean, really top-notch throws, particularly early in the game. And then, there was about a three or four-play sequence there where it was rough. And, for him to come back and get out of that and be able to drive us down the field I think was crucial. And, I think it's great for him and I think it speaks volumes and I think that will help his confidence moving forward.”

Goff has been having a mediocre year so far, completing 266/399 pass attempts (66.7%) for a total of 2,576 yards, and having logged 13 touchdowns leading up to Week 14. As the Lions have finally won their first game of the season, one can only hope that they pick things up from here. While their playoff chances are bleak (or nonexistent), more wins in the future could be greatly beneficial to the team's chemistry.
