Miami Dolphins Ndamukong Suh is a man known to terrorize some backfields. Now, however, the big man would also like another crack at being the world's largest professional kicker of footballs.
After being asked about potentially playing offense, Suh said it would be nice, but deferred to his dream of being a kicker.
“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask coach [Adam] Gase about that,” Suh said with a laugh, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. “I’m more than happy to go on the offensive side of the ball and have some fun, obviously in, situations; but the one thing I definitely want to do is get back on special teams and kick a field goal or an extra point. I’ve got to make up for that past Jets game, however many years that was ago.”
Don't scoff at this idea too much. Ndamukong Suh actually has some experience with this.
Article Continues BelowSuh got the chance to kick an extra point for Detroit as a rookie in 2010. He hit the right upright in the third quarter, and the Lions lost 23-20 in overtime.
“There’s no question that Ndamukong is our backup field goal kicker,” then Lions coach Jim Schwartz said with total seriousness at the time. “He’s done it in practice. We have a lot of confidence that he could kick it. It put him in a difficult situation because he went out without any warmups. … Probably should have called a timeout, given him time to get ready.”
Can we pretty please make this happen?
