The Green Bay Packers have had quite the eventful offseason. There was speculation that superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers would leave town for greener pastures, though the four-time MVP ended up re-signing with Green Bay. Unfortunately, the Packers did not have the cap space to bring back two of their core stars on both sides of the ball, stud receiver Davante Adams and talented pass rusher Za'Darius Smith. With speedy deep threat Marquez Valdes-Scantling also bolting via free agency, the wide receiver room is looking pretty thin in Green Bay. With the free agent options dwindling, the 2022 NFL Draft might be their best bet to improve the receiver depth chart. This year's class is filled with plenty of skilled receiver prospects, so the Packers should have no shortage of options when they're on the clock. However, the pass rush could also do with an upgrade, as could the defensive line. That said, here are the three best players the Packers can select with the 28th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

3 Best Players Packers Can Select With 28th Pick
3. Jahan Dotson
The Packers have a clear need at wide receiver. Not only that, but head coach Matt LaFleur specified exactly what he thinks the team needs at the position: speed. Jahan Dotson has plenty of speed, as he ran a 4.43 40-yard dash. In any other draft class, Dotson would be considered a burner, but he just so happened to be overshadowed by an NFL combine that quickly turned into a track meet with the speed showcased by the other wideouts. The Penn State product broke out during his senior year, totaling over 90 receptions for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns. Dotson had some big games, including a 242-yard, three-touchdown outburst against Maryland back in November. He's clearly a playmaker and one the Packers have to consider adding to their wideout room when they're on the clock in the draft.

The Packers have a clear need at pass rush after the departure of Smith in free agency. One can never have too many pass rushers, especially in the pass-heavy environment of today's NFL. That's where Ebiketie comes in. The Penn State product is pegged as a day-one starter as an outside linebacker, which would be ideal for the Packers, who could pair him on the other side of incumbent pass rusher Preston Smith. The former Nittany Lions star transferred from Temple and leveled up as a senior, totaling 9.5 sacks and a whopping 18 tackles for loss. He's a disruptive player against both the pass and run, though some scouting reports have suggested he'd best fit as strictly a pass rusher at the beginning of his NFL career. That would suit the Packers just fine.
1. Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks should be the Packers' dream draft pick. Burks has size- he's 6-feet-3 inches and weighs 225 pounds. The Arkansas product was criticized for his 4.55 40-yard dash time but had a simple message for those thinking he was slow: watch the tape. Burks has been compared to Tennessee Titans star wideout A.J. Brown by NFL.com and he has the potential to be a fill-in for Adams. No one can fully replace a star like Adams, though Burks could at least be a reliable target for Rodgers from day one.
