The Green Bay Packers had a phenomenal regular season, going 13-3. That gave them a first round bye in the playoffs.

They then went on to win their Divisional round matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. However, that was where the story ended, as they lost in the NFC Championship to the San Francisco 49ers.

Superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers was once again right in the middle of the success. But he's also drawn a lot of criticism, as the numbers aren't what they used to be, and he isn't winning any more Super Bowls.

2019 was not a bad season for Rodgers though. In fact, it was a great one. Here are three reasons why that's the case.

Look At His Weapons

Davante Adams, Packers

This is always the most obvious defense when it comes to Rodgers. It's also something people look to when praising him.

The Packers don't exactly give him great weapons. Davante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in football, no one is taking that away from him.

After that though, there's a declining Jimmy Graham at tight end. There are also inconsistent threats in Marques Valdez-Scantling, Allen Lazard and Geronimo Allison.

It makes things even worse, when you consider the Packers only had Adams for 12 games this year. So that's four games right there where Rodgers was going without any real major threat to the defense in the passing game.

Despite that, he still managed good numbers.

Numbers Don't Lie

Speaking of the numbers, they don't lie. Rodgers racked up 4,002 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, while completing 62% of his passes.

Those numbers aren't crazy good or anything like that, but they are still really strong. Especially considering the weapons issue once again.

Then there's the fact that he had just four interceptions.

Rodgers keeps the ball safe. That leads to Green Bay marching down the field pretty often, and tends to put the defense in great field position. It's an elite attribute of his and something that keeps him extremely effective, even if the other numbers take a dip.

Okay, here's the big one. His team went 13-3.

I'm not a big fan of bringing up records when talking about a quarterback. It's a team game. A QB could throw five touchdown passes and no interceptions and still lose.

Meanwhile, remember the playoff run of the Tennessee Titans? Ryan Tannehill had 160 passing yards combined between the two wins. Sometimes a win or loss has nothing to do with the quarterback.

That being said, Rodgers is still throwing the ball well and his team is winning. Wins seems to be the thing that matter most to the quarterback. So he would definitely consider going 13-3 a good season for him.

Rodgers might not be happy they didn't win the whole thing, but they have a chance next year. After all, you can never count out a team with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
