The NFL has been trying to generate more fandom outside of the United States and it seems they'll successfully do that next season. With the league continuing to grow across the world, it seems we'll have five teams guaranteed to play overseas. One of them being the Green Bay Packers.

According to Albert Breer, the other four teams include the New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Arizona Cardinals. These franchises will be deemed as the home teams for their international matchups in 2022. This is an exciting time for the league, as the NFL continues to push for a more prominent role in global sports.

As of now, football is a truly American sport. In comparison to soccer, it doesn't even come close to popularity across the world. However, with the NFL sending popular franchises overseas, we should see a boost in fandom. Additionally, the league will be playing a game in Munich, Germany, which is the first time a professional football team will play in that country.

Perhaps we'll continue seeing the NFL expand its reach across the globe. It's commonly known that commissioner Rodger Goodell wants to keep the league growing overseas and make football a global sport. There are other leagues in other countries, but the popularity has yet to catch on.

It'll be interesting to see how many international games will be played in the future. The NFL implanted the 18th week to the regular season, causing some teams to play fewer home games than others. Maybe Rodger Goodell aims to force every franchise to participate in one international game every year, which would balance out the home-away schedules once again.

That is speculation for now, as there are no actual reports to back that claim. Regardless, the NFL will have five international games next season, which should stir up more fans for the league.
