The Green Bay Packers lost arguably the best wide receiver in the game in Davante Adams. Could they be angling to replace him with San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel? Aaron Rodgers doesn't think so.

There has been some major buzz ever since Deebo Samuel voiced out his frustration on his situation in San Francisco. Aaron Rodgers was asked on his Packers potentially trading for the star wide receiver after some major deals have already been consummated.

Via The Pat McAfee show:

“I think we've been in the mix for some of these guys. Not a lot of teams are probably gonna want to trade receivers to Green Bay so I think we're probably in the back of the line for a lot of these teams. Our picks are usual late and nobody wants to trade within the division a guy like Deebo,” said Rodgers.

Rodgers initially harped on why other teams wouldn't want to trade with the Packers. For one, they don't usually have attractive draft picks to give in exchange given that they're usually picking at the back of the first round. But even from Green Bay's standpoint, Rodgers just doesn't see it.

“But at the same time, I think if you're not going to pay Davante … going out and paying another guy, I don't know if that makes a ton of sense. Now there's some veteran guys out there that I think could be possibilities. And also we have two picks in the second round tomorrow,” the Packers star continued.

Aaron Rodgers summed it up best, though, on the Packers' chances of acquiring Samuel.

“Does San Fran want to trade Deebo Samuel to us? I don't think so,” Rodgers continued.

Hard to argue with that.
