The Green Bay Packers have cooled off a bit since their incendiary start to the 2019 season, most notably losing to the San Francisco 49ers 37-8 on Sunday Night Football. Their quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, knows he has to get hot in the Tundra in December.

On Wednesday, Rodgers admitted to knowing that he has to play good December ball with the Minnesota Vikings breathing down the Packers' necks.

“Offensively I’ve gotta take the lead and get hot in December here,” said Rodgers, via Matthew Schneidman of The Athletic.

The Packers, at 8-3, are still on top of the NFC North. However, the Vikings are close. In order to continue to wear the crown of the division, a good December will be key. That starts with their bout with the 2-9 New York Giants on Sunday, whose play reflects their putrid record.

After facing the Giants, the Packers' December schedule continues to look easy. They will host the 2-9 Washington Redskins the following week. From there on, the Chicago Bears come into town, who, under Mitchell Trubisky, are dealing with an anemic offense. Their true test comes against the 8-3 Vikings. Though the Packers bested Minnesota early on, those in purple and gold are a different team from the early days of the season.

Following their matchup with the Vikings in Minneapolis, the Packers will close out the season with a bout with the 3-7-1 Lions in Detroit.

There is potential for the Packers to get hot as the crunch time of the season unfolds. However, they must turn that potential into production.
