Green Bay Packers linebacker Blake Martinez is listed as questionable for his team's Week 8 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday due to wrist and hand injuries, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

Martinez has not practiced all week, but he was not on the Packers' status report on Friday.

The team then downgraded him on Saturday morning.

Martinez was initially just dealing with a wrist issue, but Green Bay added a hand injury to his report.

If Martinez is unable to go this weekend, it would be a significant blow to the Packers' defense, as he leads all players in the NFL with 76 tackles and has added a sack and a forced fumble on top of that.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Stanford, was originally selected by Green Bay in the fourth round (131st pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He played in 13 games during his rookie campaign, totaling 65 tackles, a sack, an interception and four passes defended. The following year, Martinez broke out, appearing in every contest and racking up 142 stops, a sack, a pick, a forced fumble, a couple of fumble recoveries and eight passes defended.

Martinez was even better last year, finishing with 144 tackles and five sacks.

Green Bay's defense was thought to be elite over the first couple of weeks of the season, but it has come back down to earth, as it ranks just 26th in the NFL.

The Packers will catch a bit of a break against the Chiefs, however, as Patrick Mahomes will not be playing.
