The Green Bay Packers are in need of some help in their secondary, and Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton thinks New York Giants safety Landon Collins could be the man for the job.
Collins is set to enter free agency this offseason and is widely considered one of the best safeties in the league.
The general consensus is that the Giants will re-sign Collins, potentially even using the franchise tag on the defensive back, but it would make sense for the Packers to at least take a shot.
In 12 games this season, Collins registered 96 tackles, a forced fumble, and four passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance in what was actually a down year for him overall.
The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by New York in the second round (33rd pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He had an impressive rookie campaign, finishing with 108 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and nine passes defended, but the following year, Collins stamped his name among the best defensive players in football, racking up 125 tackles, four sacks, five picks, a fumble recovery, a defensive touchdown, and 13 passes defended, making his first Pro Bowl and earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
Collins then made another Pro Bowl in 2017, posting 99 stops, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a couple of fumble recoveries, and six passes defended.
The Packers went just 6-9-1 this season, missing the playoffs for the second straight year. It marked the first time that Green Bay has missed the postseason in back-to-back campaigns since 2006.
