Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons made his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, pay in his first start against them in the 2025 season at AT&T Stadium on Sunday Night Football. After a month-long wait following a contract dispute that ended his tenure with the Cowboys, Parsons registered his first sack against Dallas in overtime, chasing down quarterback Dak Prescott in the red zone.
The sack potentially prevented a touchdown and forced the Cowboys to settle for a field goal, which Green Bay matched to preserve a 40-40 tie, the first for Dallas since 1969 and the second-highest scoring tie in NFL history.
So Micah Parsons technically gets his sack in return to Dallas by tackling Dak Prescott for no gain. Might’ve saved a touchdown on the play.

Parsons had been relatively quiet through the first three games of the season, coming into the matchup with just 1.5 sacks. However, Pro Football Focus credited him with 15 total pressures in those games. Against the Cowboys, he tallied three tackles (one solo), one sack, and a quarterback hit, breaking through only in overtime after being mostly contained in regulation.
The game itself was a wild shootout, ending in the NFL’s first tie in three years, with both teams combining for 80 points, 40 apiece. Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love completed 31-of-43 passes for 337 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, earning a 118.1 passer rating. All three of Love’s touchdown passes went to receiver Romeo Doubs, who finished with a career-high three TD receptions on six catches for 58 yards. Running backs Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson added 83 and 44 rushing yards, respectively, with Jacobs also contributing 71 receiving yards. Other key Packers contributors included Matthew Golden (five catches, 58 yards) and Tucker Kraft (five catches, 56 yards).
For Dallas, Prescott had a phenomenal night, completing 31-of-40 passes for 319 yards with three touchdowns, no interceptions, and a rushing score. George Pickens stepped up for the injured CeeDee Lamb, hauling in eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Tolbert added four receptions for 61 yards, and tight end Jake Ferguson recorded seven catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Javonte Williams contributed 85 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Despite totaling 436 yards and holding the ball for 34:27, the Cowboys could not secure a win, as Green Bay matched them with 489 total yards and 35:33 in possession.
The first half saw Green Bay jump to a 13-0 lead, including a blocked PAT returned for two points by Dallas. The Cowboys responded with two quick touchdowns before halftime, aided by a strip-sack of Jordan Love deep in Green Bay territory. From there, the lead changed hands repeatedly. Dallas scored a go-ahead touchdown with 43 seconds left in regulation, but Green Bay tied it at 37 with a 53-yard field goal from Brandon McManus as time expired.
In overtime, Dallas drove to goal-to-go but was held inside the five-yard line, settling for a 22-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey. The Packers then advanced into the red zone, and after a failed end-zone attempt with one second left, McManus converted a short field goal to tie the game at 40-40.
Under the NFL’s new 10-minute overtime rules, each team had one possession, ending the contest in a tie without sudden death.
