Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers told the franchise early on that he would be making his decision before the league's franchise tag deadline, so as to allow players such as teammate and wide receiver Davante Adams, to make their own career decisions and not be tied to his own. Well, Rodgers decided to remain with Green Bay on Tuesday and the organization made their franchise tag decision on Adams official shortly after the news, as reported by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Schneidman reports that Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams is officially staying in Green Bay as well. The Packers applied the franchise tag to Adams, which will pay the talented wideout $20.12 million for the 2022 season.
Throughout the process leading up to Aaron Rodgers' decision, many thought that he and his favorite target Adams would be a package deal wherever they landed. Fortunately, for Packers' fans, it was back in Green Bay.
The two have formed one of the more deadly connections in pro football over the last several seasons and are the most productive Packers' duo in franchise history in terms of the number of times they have connected for touchdowns.
Adams, 29, is coming off of back-to-back seasons with 100-plus receptions and over 1300 receiving yards, so his 2022 cap figure on the franchise tag will make him a bargain compared to the other top wideouts in the league.
