After dominating the NFL throughout the 2021 season, Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers certainly didn't expect to exit early in the NFL playoffs. However, it is clear they have no one to blame but themselves.
Leading for much of the night during Saturday's divisional round showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, the Packers disappointed their home fans with a late collapse that allowed the visitors to escape with a 13-10 win. They only scored 10 points and failed to find the end zone since AJ Dillon's first half TD.
Dillon's chest injury midway through the contest may have been a factor, with the Packers struggling to get anything going offensively since his exit. Nonetheless, a lot of other things didn't go well for Green Bay as even Aaron Rodgers failed to pull off his usual magic and guide the team on the clutch.
LaFleur, for his part, shouldered the blame for the loss. But he also pointed out how scoring just 10 points falls on all of them.

Matt LaFleur also shared the emotions in the locker room following the stinging defeat, highlighting that it hurts even more considering the fact that it's the second straight playoff game they lost at home. In the Conference Championship last year, they fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeu Field.
“This is a tough pill to swallow for all of us right now. That's a really disappointed locker room. I hurt for them. This is two years in a row where you lose home playoff games,” the veteran tactician furthered.
The Packers now have plenty of questions to answer after they're sent vacationing early. For one, there could be questions if LaFleur is the right coach to guide them after repeatedly failing to coach them past the NFC title game.
