The Green Bay Packers are rolling after trading for Micah Parsons. Green Bay got a huge win in Week 1, destroying Detroit 27-13 in an all-around dominant performance. The Packers only played Parsons on some defensive downs, but he made his impact felt right away.
It should be no surprise that Parsons' new Packers teammates are thrilled to have him.
Multiple Packers defensive players made bold statements about Parsons after the big Week 1 win.
“Oh yeah, it was definitely different,” All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney said, per The Athletic's Michael Silver. “He didn’t even play the whole game. Once we get him rolling, it’s gonna be a problem.”
Parsons did not blow up the stat sheet, but he certainly made his presence felt on the field. He pressured Jared Goff multiple times and caused chaos on Green Bay's defensive line.
Parsons also managed his first sack with the Packers during the fourth quarter.
“I think we all have juice, but he added to that,” Nixon said. “We ain’t scared of nobody. We’re the real deal.”
It will be exciting to see how Green Bay uses Parsons as he becomes more comfortable in the defense.
Micah Parsons called timing of Packers trade “outrageous”

Add this as another reason Packers fans can expect more from Parsons moving forward.
The superstar edge rusher admitted that the timing of his trade the Packers was “outrageous” and left him mentally drained.
“These last six months was super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said after the game. “It’s something that I don’t think no player should have to go through. The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough. It’s something where I could’ve been with these guys getting better and better, and we could’ve had probably even more dominant start.”
But Parsons also showed some love to his new Packers teammates who have welcomed him with open arms.
“These guys embraced me,” Parsons continued. “They believe in my talents. They believed in me and I’m just gonna give these guys everything I have because I know what’s at stake and I know what they gave up for me to be here.”
Green Bay could become the story of the 2025 NFL season if they continue dominating opponents with their smothering defense.
Next up for the Packers is a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Commanders.
