As the Green Bay Packers prepare for the last four games of their 2018 schedule, questions are swirling about who their next head coach will be. After making the decision to fire Mike McCarthy following last week's embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Packers are now one of the hottest open head coaching vacancies.

Plenty of names have already surfaced as potential targets for the Packers. Ranging from Jim Harbaugh to Mike Shanahan, the fans in Green Bay have already been taken on a roller coaster ride.

Albert Breer, an NFL Insider for The MMQB, stated that at this point in time, Josh McDaniels has been the most connected head coaching candidate to the Packers thus far in a recent interview with Colin Cowherd's The Herd.

McDaniels would be a huge pickup for the Packers. He has previous experience dealing with storied franchises in New England and as Breer mentioned, has worked with Tom Brady.

One of the biggest needs for the Packers is to find a head coach that can bring a unique, fresh offense for Aaron Rodgers. The Packers saw their offense sputter in recent weeks. McCarthy frustrated Packers' fans with his constantly bad play-calling.

If the Packers want to get back to being a yearly Super Bowl contender, they have to get their offense back on track.

Bringing in McDaniels would give the Packers one of the top offensive minds in the NFL. McDaniels may even be open to keeping defensive coordinator Mike Pettine in town.

All of that being said, the Packers simply cannot afford to miss with this hire. Rodgers is 34 years old and the Packers have not given him the opportunity to compete for championships as much as they should.

Expect to see the Green Bay Packers strongly consider McDaniels this offseason and don't be surprised if he is the new head coach when everything is said and done.
