Two things that never get old: 1. Benjamin Button and 2. Stories of vindication in sports. Or any story of vindication, really. On Thursday night, Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas got his.

Douglas made the most critical play against the Arizona Cardinals as he intercepted Kyler Murray's pass with 12 seconds left. His impressive defensive play enabled the Packers to escape with a thrilling 24-21 win and extend their winning streak to seven games. They also handed the Cardinals their first loss of the season.

This is the part where we note that Douglas was let go by the Cardinals just a few days ago. He was with the Cardinals' practice squad when he was picked up by the Packers. Now, he just beat the team that didn't want him. With the team that took a chance on him. If that's not poetic justice, then nothing is.

Still, Douglas remained modest after the win, saying he's just “blessed” to be part of the Packers (via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman).

It was truly a memorable night for the 26-year-old Douglas, who's already joined six teams in four seasons. With his inspired showing against the Cardinals, he might finally find a permanent home with the Packers. No less than star quarterback Aaron Rodgers praised Douglas for his resolve (via ESPN).

“The guy that made the pick was with them (Cardinals) for four weeks. He was on the streets. We brought him in. He's starting for us. He's a great dude. He's really meshed well with our team. To come up with a play like that with 15 seconds left is incredible.”

Yes, incredible indeed.
