Cornerback A.J. Bouye was a notable absentee along with fellow corner Jalen Ramsey during the start of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ OTAs last week. However, Bouye was finally back with the team for Tuesday’s session.
Bouye said he and the Jaguars’ coaching staff were “on the same page” after he communicated with them that he would be working on some things with his own trainers instead of joining up with the team.

Bouye specifically mentioned last year’s playoff game against Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown as one such motivating incident. He notes a conversation he had with Brown during the Pro Bowl regarding the adjustments Brown made from their previous meeting that helped the Steelers star torch Bouye for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
Bouye had a strong debut campaign in Jacksonville as he played an integral part in the Jaguars’ success last season. He had a team-high six interceptions as he earned Second-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
But despite that strong year, Bouye doesn’t seem to be resting on his laurels and remains motivated to get better. That seems like a promising sign for the Jaguars as they look to continue being a top contender in the AFC this season.
