Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette had some struggles during the 2018 season and he made some big changes this offseason to try and get better, including trying to get some of the “bad people” out of his life.
Fournette made an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio and said that there were a lot of changes made to be a better player. He lost weight in hopes that he can be lighter on his feet, and he also made changes in his personal life, hoping to not have to focus on anything besides football.

“I just tried to focus on my personal life,” Fournette said. “Getting the bad people out of my life, focusing on myself so I won’t have to worry about no problems coming into the season or even coming into camp. I know football is going to take care of itself if I put mind into it and work hard every day. It’s really the personal things, just trying to be in a better place.”
It's unclear exactly of what individuals he got rid of, but the hope is with those distractions gone, he can help the team in a more explosive way this year.
Last year Fournette rushed 133 times for 439 yards and five touchdowns. This season the team hopes he is a threat running and catching the ball, and new quarterback Nick Foles has taken notice of his catching ability.
“Every single day, he's catching balls in practice,” Nick Foles said via NFL.com. “You're always reading concepts and everything, but sometimes the matchups on the running back versus a linebacker, or if you go through your progression and they cover it really well, you can check it down to a back like him, and he can make a play. So he's a special back when you give him the ball.”
He still has to prove it on the field, but it seems that Fournette has taken the right steps to get back to being one of the best backs in the league.
