Bad news for the Jacksonville Jaguars: key defensive end Josh Allen will miss Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
According to the Jaguars' official Twitter account, Allen will not make the trip to Texas as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

Allen has been Jacksonville's best pass rusher so far in the 2020 season, and one of the lone bright spots on a Jaguars defense that has largely struggled through the first four weeks of the season and ranks last in defensive DVOA.
Doug Marrone's squad has been particularly ineffective defending the opposing team's passing games, in part due to their lackluster pass rush. The Jaguars have just four sacks on the season, two of which came from Allen over the past two weeks.
Allen has accounted for 13 pressures this season, which easily leads the team (Dawuane Smoot is next with five).

The second-year pro — whom Jacksonville drafted in the first round (no. 7 overall) out of Kentucky — registered 10.5 sacks, 44 tackles, and two forced fumbles as a rookie in 2019, earning a nod as a Pro Bowl alternate. Josh Allen's production allowed the team to part ways with DE Yannick Ngakoue, who was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in August.
Allen injured his knee during Jacksonville's 33-25 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. He returned to finish the game, but he did not participate in practice all week. He was listed as questionable on Friday.
The Jaguars are looking for their second win of the season on Sunday. Fortunately, Allen's first career missed game will come against a winless Texans squad — playing their first game since the firing of head coach and GM Bill O'Brien earlier in the week.
