Is it possible that Jalen Ramsey will remain a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars after all?
After Ramsey demanded a trade following a sideline confrontation with head coach Doug Marrone last week, the cornerback suited up for the Jaguars' game against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night and helped lead Jacksonville to a 20-7 win.
But it seems like that may not have been Ramsey's last game with the Jags.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jaguars owner Shad Khan is a big fan of Ramsey and may be willing to make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL “as soon as he possibly can.”
Rapoport adds that Jacksonville would need to be “convinced” and “overwhelmed” to move Ramsey.
That certainly makes sense.
Ramsey is coming off of a back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances, including a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2017. What's more, he actually has another year left on his current deal after this season.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to earn $3.6 million this year and $13.7 million in 2020.
Ramsey refused to talk about his trade request after the game on Thursday.
The Jaguars have been said to be seeking a couple of first-round draft picks in exchange in a potential trade for Ramsey, with the Kansas City Chiefs emerging as a possible suitor.
The Smyrna, Tn. native, who played his collegiate at Florida State, was originally selected by Jacksonville with the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Jags improved to 1-2 after their victory over the Titans and will take on the Denver Broncos next Sunday.
