Let's preface talking about Jon Gruden with a personal take. Under almost zero circumstances does this Internet Scribbler believe Jon Gruden will return to coaching. Not when ESPN is paying a ton of money and with the personality not having coached football in forever. It makes almost no sense.

And yet, here we are. Jon Gruden is openly talking about the idea of him potentially returning to coaching.

It’s in your blood,” Gruden told Eisen regarding a possible return to coaching, via JoeBucsFan.com. “You get some people calling maybe to see if you’re interested in coaching again and maybe if you can help recommend a couple of guys. I’m pretty much involved with every level of football every day of the week, so I try to help if I can.

“One of these days, who knows, Rich? One of these days, you never know.”

“I have talked to people in years past. I plan on just keeping my options open,” Gruden said. ”If something comes along down the road, we’ll take a look at it.”

For what it is worth, it wouldn't be good business for Gruden to shut these rumors on him returning to coaching down. He can use that as leverage to get more loot to call Monday Night Football games. Even if it isn't for that, and it is (through magic) about eventually returning to coaching for real, it provides him the benefit of having teams outbid each other for his services.

Nevertheless, considering how his tenure in the NFL ended, why again do teams want him so bad?
