Oakland Raiders right guard Gabe Jackson suffered an injury in Thursday's training camp practice. According to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez, Jackson was “carted off with an apparent leg injury,” he came back on crutches with a brace on his left knee. The Raiders have been practicing in a joint training camp with the Los Angeles Rams.

It's unknown how severe the injury is or his timetable to return. According to Gutierez, he rolled his knee up from behind minutes after a scrap with defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Head coach Jon Gruden talked to reporters after training camp, he said, via the Raiders beat writer,

“We're concerned, obviously. Really concerned about him. But we'll get more information here and we can be specific for you. I don't want to speculate. Unfortunate. Hope he's OK. We'll have to put our heads together to take a look where at we're going, if we need to.”

Denver Kirkland filled in for Jackson for the rest of practice. Veteran Jonathan Cooper may help fill the void if Jackson's ailment is serious. The right guard's injury is the second big-name one of the week (Antonio Brown's frostbitten feet) for the Raiders.

Though never a Pro Bowler or All-Pro, the 28-year-old Jackson is a key-cog in the Raiders' offensive line. He's been a full-time starter at right guard since 2014. Along with Richie Incognito and Rodney Hudson, Jackson is expected to take part in the reform of a poor Raiders offensive line in 2018. However, the Raiders will not see Incognito play until week three, as he's facing a two-game NFL mandated suspension.
