Throughout much of the NFL offseason, Oakland Raiders star defensive end Khalil Mack has been away from the team due to his desire to get a new long-term deal with the franchise.
However, there hasn't been any significant progress toward a new deal over the last few months as he has now elected to holdout from the offseason workouts and training camp to speed up that process. Although he has been away from the team, Mack has continued to stay in shape as a video has surfaced of him working out at his alma mater, the University of Buffalo.

There shouldn't be much concern that Mack will be out of shape during this holdout as he shown by his this recent video. Mack has a strong desire to get a new lucrative deal, but it doesn't appear that both sides are near a deal at this point in time.
Oakland wants to work out a new contract with the former Defensive Player of the Year, but things have hit a bit of a standstill between both sides. It could be that Mack is waiting to see the type of deals that both Aaron Donald and Jadeveon Clowney receive from their respective teams, but there is no timetable for when either of those situations will find a resolution.
Mack has proven on the field that he deserves to possibly become either the highest-paid defensive player or among the top in the league as he's coming off yet another impressive campaign where he had a team-high 10.5 sacks, which made him the fifth player in team history to record at least 10 sacks in three different seasons. His 40.5 sacks through his first four years are the third-most by a player over that stretch in Raiders’ history and fifth-most all-time.
