The Los Angeles Chargers have continued to march forward after a huge 29-28 win on the road over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 action.

Things could be getting a bit better with tight end Hunter Henry returning to practice this week that has put on the table the potential of him returning to the mix this season. This has now put the Chargers in the position of having three weeks to decide whether Henry will be activated to play this year.

This is a significant development in the situation as there had previously been rumblings that Henry had a chance to make a return this year. There was more fuel to this fire added prior to last Thursday's game against the Chiefs as he went through a warmup routine on the field. His return to the fold for practice this week at least puts him back in the mix to possibly be a factor down the stretch.

Henry has spent the last several months working his way back from the injury that he suffered on the first day of training camp. He had been set to come in as the top receiving target at his position with the team deciding to move on from former Pro Bowler Antonio Gates after 15 seasons. Henry had taken over the bulk of the snaps at tight end over Gates in 2017, posting career highs of 46 catches, 579 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.

The Chargers will likely continue to monitor the situation closely over the next couple of weeks as to how his body responds being back in practice will be an indicator of whether he will be able to give it a go. Henry is recovering from a major injury that typically takes nine months to a year to fully heal, which is currently way ahead of that timetable.
