The coronavirus pandemic has been causing a lot of problems in the world. And that expands into the sports world as well.
Just within the last few hours, the WWE has seen an unprecedented number of releases.
Perhaps it is the NFL that has seen the least amount of impact so far. Because it's their offseason, the NFL has not had to cancel games yet.
However, that doesn't mean things aren't starting to hit them. The upcoming 2020 NFL Draft is going to be much different, with it happening remotely.
And now there's something else. Something much worse. It's creeping into the franchises. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, an employee of the Los Angeles Chargers has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Not only has an employee tested positive, but two others have shown symptoms of COVID-19.
They do not specify who is positive and who is having symptoms. The report does say that team owner Dean Spanos, general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Anthony Lynn were not amongst those three though.
Still, this could be a Chargers player, someone in the front office or any type of employee really.
That has to make you wonder about who else the person (or people) have come in contact with. Have then been isolated? Or were they near a lot of other people in the organization (and outside of it as well)?
With sports, this is something that could spread fast simply because even now there are people in the organizations that are in touch with other people.
Obviously, shutting down the sports for the time will keep the spread in them to a minimum. But just like everyone else, they are still susceptible to the coronavirus.
Hopefully the people in the Los Angeles organization (and anyone else dealing with it at the moment) recovery quickly. And hopefully the spreading stops soon.
