Melvin Gordon was unable to secure an extension from the Los Angeles Chargers last offseason, but that hasn't deterred his desire to remain with the Chargers. With nearly two months until the new league year, Gordon hopes to re-sign with Los Angeles in free agency.
“Hopefully, I’m here,” Gordon said via ProFootballTalk. “Hopefully, I don’t have to wait til March to know where I’m gonna be playing.”

Heading into the offseason, Gordon seems to want a quick decision when free agency begins. Despite wanting to stay, Gordon understands that there is a business side to the NFL that could prevent him from getting his wish.
“When it comes to business, you have to take your emotions out of it,” Gordon said. “It’s not about if you deserve to be here or not. I’ve talked to Tom plenty of times, he tells me ‘you deserve to get paid’ but sometimes it just might not be the right situation.”
The Chargers have reportedly ‘moved on' from Philip Rivers without any hesitation. Considering how Los Angeles is able to suddenly move past Rivers, Gordon should realize that his fate may already be decided.
