Melvin Gordon will finally be playing for the LA Chargers for what felt like forever. His standoff with the Chargers front office took a while before he found a deal that suits him.
Now that he has the contract he's been longing for, he's eager to get on the field and silence his loudest critics. He got in touch with Gilbert Manzano and revealed that he's especially eager to silence everyone who has said a lot of things about him and his choices.

Gordon wasn't wrong with his words. It's true that almost all of the eyes in the NFL were on the Ezekiel Elliot holdout and its dramatic conclusion. The football press had their eyes and ears on the Elliott holdout while Gordon's holdout didn't get much attention until the season has begun.
Zeke finally got his big-money contract but was rusty in his first game back. It's likely that the same result will happen with Gordon. But given his beef with almost every sporting talk show host, he'll try his best to come out of the gates firing.
However, his own head coach may stop him from trying too hard.
“We have a plan for Melvin,” Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn told Bleacher Report Friday. “I don't want to put him in there and play him too much. And I really don't have to. I like what Austin Ekeler has been doing in the backfield. … Whenever [Gordon is] ready to go, he will be the No. 1 guy and get the bulk of the snaps. But obviously he's not there right now.”
However, Chargers fans are more than happy that they'll have an angry Melvin Gordon suiting up for Week 5. They might have a better shot at winning against the Denver Broncos.
