Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon seems to be trending in the right direction in his rehab from a recent knee injury.

Gordon suffered a sprained MCL in the team's Week 12 win over the Arizona Cardinals and did not play in Sunday's 33-30 comeback victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, according to head coach Anthony Lynn, Gordon's chances of returning to the field are getting better and better.

From ESPN's Chargers beat writer Eric Williams:

Anthony Lynn said they’ll take it day-by-day with Melvin Gordon and his sprained right knee, and that his chances of playing are better this week than they were last week. Lynn said he had Gordon stay back in Southern California so that he was in familiar surroundings while he rehabbed. “I saw him this morning and he’s doing better,” Lynn said. “But we’ll see. I don’t want to put him out there too soon because we have a lot of football left.”
