Melvin Gordon's days with the Los Angeles Chargers could potentially be coming to an end as the team is currently looking to ship the running back to another team who is willing to acquire his services. However, they are putting a steep price to any team that is interested in acquiring him.

Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Chargers told interested parties that a first-round and a fifth-round pick must be included in the trade package that they will be offering.

That price will likely give any team interested in acquiring Gordon pause, especially considering how valuable a first-round pick continues to be. Moreover, Gordon's wage demands are also adding negative air to any possible trades. The 15th overall pick of the 2015 Draft is demanding around the $13-million range as his yearly salary.

Of course, the two-time Pro Bowler is a reliable RB option. He completed 3628 rushing yards and 1577 receiving yards in his four years with the Chargers. However, teams aren't comfortable with providing huge sums to players in a position they feel that they can pay cheaply.

Gordon may have looked into Ezekiel Elliott's situation in consideration of his decision to hold out on his preseason. He won a large payday with the Dallas Cowboys after holding out in training camp and preseason.

Moreover, there will always be teams that need quality running backs. He has a proven track record and it might be just a matter of time before a team lets go of their draft picks to get his services.
