Chargers Week 17 Predictions

4. Justin Herbert will run for a touchdown

Herbert has three rushing touchdowns for the Chargers this year, and the Chargers are 2-1 with just an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs as the only loss. It's safe to say if Herbert is running one in, that the offense is clicking–and the numbers would back it up. LA scores 34 points per game when Herbert has a rushing touchdown and 29 points per game when he doesn't.

3. Austin Ekeler will have 150+ total yards

Ekeler has surprisingly not cleared 150 yards in any game this season, despite having over 1,300 total yards and 17 touchdowns. That will change this week, however, as Ekeler will return to the lineup after a week off due to COVID-19 and make it up to his fantasy managers in a big way. It may be too late for you if you are an Ekeler fantasy manager–unless you also roster Justin Jackson– but it's not too late for Ekeler to get back and help his team keep their playoff hopes alive.

2. Joey Bosa will have two sacks

Another player who is coming back from the COVID list is stud pass-rusher Joey Bosa. While Joey has not been able to get to the two-sack mark so far in 2021, he does have ten games with a sack, including the Chargers' first matchup with the Broncos earlier this year. In that game, Bosa came up with a sack and a forced fumble but Denver won the game 28-13. A similar result will see the Chargers' 37 percent playoff chances fall to a point of no return, so LA is banking on a big game from more than Bosa to make sure that doesn't happen.

1. Keenan Allen will score the game-winning touchdown

With Denver boasting one of the league's best secondaries that is fifth in the NFL with 210.7 passing yards per game allowed, it is likely to be ‘tough sledding' for the Chargers passing game on Sunday. They just need to keep the game close, though, because if they do, Justin Herbert will lead Los Angeles on a game-winning touchdown drive that culminates in the game-winning touchdown pass to Allen with four seconds remaining on the clock. LA wins the game 20-17 and keeps their playoff hopes alive going into the final week of the NFL season.
