The Los Angeles Rams boast the most high-powered offense in the NFL. One of the most potent areas of their scoring attack is their wide receiver trio of Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp.
Each player has taken turns being featured as quarterback Jared Goff's top wideout. As a result, they have become the first trio to register at least 400 yards through the first five games, via Elias Sports:
Brandin Cooks (452) Cooper Kupp (438) and Robert Woods (415) became the first trio in NFL history to each post 400-plus receiving yards through five games of a season.
This is quite the accomplishment from the Rams offense. Both Cooks and Cupp would have very well had more if they were not sidelined with concussions versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. However, their start is indicative of how balanced this offense really is.
There is no question that running back Todd Gurley is the focal point of the offense. However, teams have opted to stack the box in an effort to force Goff to make the plays. Needless to say, that has not worked out very well for opposing defenses. The third-year quarterback has thrown for an NFL-leading 1,727 yards to go with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. His stellar play has made him an early favorite to win the NFL's MVP award.
It is clear that his success can be attributed to his talented receiving corps. Woods and Kupp already established a healthy rapport with Goff last season. However, Cooks has quickly become a welcome addition to his arsenal. The Rams will look to keep it going against the Denver Broncos in Week 6.
