The 2019 NFL season has seen seven teams get off to a 3-0 start. However, it appears only the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Rams boast more than a 0.1 percent chance of staying undefeated through the rest of the year.
The Patriots are the current favorites to go 16-0 following a stellar start to the season. According to Allan Bell of CBS SportsLine, the Chiefs and the Rams each share a 0.5 percent chance of going 16-0.

There is no question that each of these teams are facing slim odds of going undefeated. The prospect of going 16-0 always seemed a bit far-fetched until the Patriots did it in 2007. Fortunately, even quarterback Tom Brady can admit that it means nothing unless an undefeated season is capped off with a Super Bowl. It is in this regard that the 1972 Miami Dolphins stand alone.
Although these teams face unfavorable odds of staying undefeated, it is safe to say that they have managed to distance themselves from the rest of the 3-0 teams as early favorites to compete for a Super Bowl. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has picked up right where he left off during his MVP campaign in 2018. Meanwhile, both the Rams and Patriots appear to be anchored by their formidable defense rather than their prowess on offense thus far.
While there will continue to be talk about how long they can keep their perfect record intact, the onus will be on the coaching staffs of New England, Kansas City, and Los Angeles to ensure they are focused on the bigger picture.
