After only playing only one game last year with the New England Patriots before tearing his ACL, Jeremy Hill is close to returning. Hill is currently a free agent but expects there will be a job for him once he is cleared, so his focus right now is just getting back on the field.
“I think for me coming off a big ACL injury, I'm just doing what I can to get back to 100 percent,” Hill said, via Herbie Teope of The Advocate. “I know there's going to be a job waiting on me when I get cleared, so that's all I'm doing now.
“I'm just trying to get healthy and once that happens, I'll be back. I'm pretty close. I'm about eight months out of surgery, so hopefully soon.”
Hill had to battle for a spot on the Patriots last year being one of the final guys to make the roster, but his season was cut so short, he couldn't prove much on the field.
Article Continues BelowIt's unclear exactly what teams might have interest in Hill, but he is only 26 years old, and if he can prove that he is fully healthy, he should at least be brought in by some team to battle for a spot on the roster.
Hill's best season was as a rookie with the Cincinnati Bengals rushing for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 215 yards.
His stats have gone down each season since 2012, but the hope is that he can revive his career with someone.
