In 14 years under legendary New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, current team defensive coordinator Matt Patricia has learned to focus on the task at hand and don't let outside noise from the media become a distraction.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, that's exactly what happened on Monday evening when the incoming head coach of the Detroit Lions spoke about the Patriots' upcoming Super Bowl LII matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium.
“I’m paranoid,” Patricia said Monday at Super Bowl Opening Night. “I’ve got a huge offense that I’ve got to try to stop, so it’s head down, try to grind it out, try to make sure that we’re covering everything we need to cover.”
Patricia wants to make entirely sure that he and his players are as prepared as possible for Sunday's big game.

Although he is widely expected to take over at Detroit after the Super Bowl is over, Patricia would not discuss that at all with reporters.
“I really just have one job,” Patricia said. “That’s I’m the Patriots’ defensive coordinator, that’s it. So I’m just trying to get ready for the Philadelphia Eagles.”
Coach Patricia's focus will certainly not be broken as he attempts to win a fourth Super Bowl ring in his last game with the Patriots.
