Bodine was supposed to be depth at the center position because David Andrews is out the entire season dealing with blood clots.
This move should really not have any effect on the team's plans this season with all signs point towards Ted Karras getting ready to be the starter. Karras knows it's a big role that he is moving into, and he feels ready for the challenge that lies ahead.

I think it’s helped me grow as a football player. I give a lot of credit to the guys that were in front of me and the coaches that have helped me grow.”
Even if Karras doesn't get the call to start, he is ready to help the team any way he can, and just feels blessed to be doing what he loves.
“No matter what happens I’m a football player. I’m very fortunate and grateful to be a football player. When your name is called to play, that’s what you’re here for. It’s something I take very seriously, and I never take for granted. If you put the helmet on you have to be ready to play, especially in this league. It’s fun to be out there in the fray with the guys. I just want to be a reliable guy that my teammates and coaches can count on.”
Keeping Tom Brady upright is most important so the team is going to run out whoever they think that can get that job done.
