The New England Patriots have already added one former Oakland Raiders wide receiver this season. If Bill Belichick and company end up signing Ryan Grant, they will surely do so with the confidence his tenure will go a bit more smoothly than Antonio Brown's.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Grant worked out for the Patriots on Thursday following his release from the Raiders earlier this week.

Oakland released Grant on Wednesday, promoting linebacker Justin Phillips to the active roster in a corresponding roster move. He signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Raiders in free agency.
Article Continues BelowGrant had three catches for 16 yards on four targets in the Raiders' impressive season-opening win over the Denver Broncos. He was less productive in a dispiriting loss to the Kansas City Chiefs the following, catching one pass for negative yardage despite being targeted on five occasions. Grant was inactive in Week 3, setting the stage for his release.
Grant was a fifth-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2014 following a standout career at Tulane. Though he garnered playing time offensively as a rookie, he became a bigger part of the Redskins’ offense a year later, when he had 23 catches for 268 yards and two touchdowns. His best season with Washington came in 2017, when Grant caught 45 passes for 573 yards and four scores, all career-highs.
The 28-year-old spent the 2018 season with the Indianapolis Colts after signing a one-year deal in free agency. He'd previously agreed to a lucrative multi-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, a deal that was voided when he failed to pass his physical.
