Phillip Dorsett is about to enter free agency, and he recently sat down with CBS Sports to discuss his options, including potentially returning to the New England Patriots.

In the interview, he said that he would be happy to return to the Patriots, especially since he was with the team for two seasons (after he'd been traded to there via a deal with the Indianapolis Colts).

Dorsett said that he didn't want to leave the Patriots and that he believes Bill Belichick wants him back, but since he's never been through the process, he doesn't know what to expect. And, what's more, he said that he is prepared for what happens either way (whether he stays or leaves).

Dorsett also said that he knows what would work for him if indeed he gets traded.

“Obviously, I want to be a key contributor for a team — a starter, that's always been my goal, a guy that can help a team win. I enjoy going out there, working hard, and just playing football. I love the game. It's the only thing I want to do.”

For what it's worth, Tom Brady himself has said that he loves playing with Phillip Dorsett. Not that this should be enough to keep him onboard with the team, but it's certainly something that can be seen as in his favor. We will definitely keep you apprised of all that happens with Dorsett and his upcoming free agency, as well as all of the other free agents about to officially hit the open market.
