The 29-year-old looks to be desiring to rework his contract to more of his preference heading into next season and beyond that. Gronkowski is still playing at an elite level where he led the Patriots with 69 receptions (69), 1,084 receiving yards (1,084), and eight touchdowns that earned him a Pro Bowl selection and a First-Team All-Pro nod. It marked his fourth 1,000 receiving yard season and third in the last four years.

There is still plenty of time for Gronkowski to rework his deal before the start of the 2018 season with the season opener not just over two months away. The fact that he is attending mandatory minicamp should signal that he is encouraged by the direction that contract discussions are currently heading at this juncture.

Gronkowski is expected to once again be a big piece of the puzzle offensively for the Patriots, especially after the departure of both veteran wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola earlier this offseason. This could reigning league MVP quarterback Tom Brady throw more passes thrown his way with what could be another highly productive year to add to his impressive career.
