The New York Giants have a pivotal Sunday Night Football matchup looming against the 9-4 Cleveland Browns. However, it remains to be seen whether they will have starting quarterback Daniel Jones under center.

Jones is officially questionable with hamstring and ankle injuries, the team announced Friday. Tight end Evan Engram is also questionable with a calf injury.

Daniel Jones' status has been up for grabs in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old suffered the initial hamstring injury in the third quarter of a Week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Jones came up gimpy after a scramble, eventually forcing Giants backup Colt McCoy into the game. Although Jones would give it another go the next series, he struggled to put any weight on the injured leg.

New York held Jones out of its Week 13 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, with the Giants earning a surprising victory behind a stout effort from the defense. Jones would return to action in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he took a beating.

The Cardinals sacked Daniel Jones six times for 52 yards. Jones struggled to move the ball through the air even when he had a brief throwing window, completing just 11-of-21 passes for 127 yards.

Jones added an ankle injury to the hamstring issue in the loss. Giants head coach Joe Judge has not shed a whole lot of light on Jones' injuries. Judge indicated the team was being cautious, but also hinted Jones is aching to play regardless of his physical condition.

New York will see how Daniel Jones progresses in the coming days before making a final decision. McCoy will get the start if Jones cannot play.
